Hand Reflexology Revision Videos
Hi, class of 2024. I finally had some time to make a few videos. The videos are a reminder of the techniques and general sequence. There is no correct or perfect way to work the hands. Use the videos as a reference point. From there, you can establish a method that works best for you. If you have any questions or comments please email me or send a message from this webpage. |
Hand Reflexology Sequence example
Hand Reflexology sequence- right hand: relaxation and fingers (3:57)
The video shows the right hand. Traditionally you would start with the left hand.
The relaxation techniques would be done much slower and more. I spend about 5 minutes in the beginning on relaxation. Especially the forearm. There are other relaxation techniques, these are the ones that work for me.
I started with the fingers, however you can start with any area. For example, if the client has spinal issues, you could start with the spine after the relaxation techniques.
You will note that I forgot to work across the fingers, instead of stopping the video I just inserted it into the end (Video no3 below). It is no problem doing reflexes out of sequence. A sequence is to help with muscle memory so we don't miss reflexes.

Hand Reflexology sequence: palm (3:30)
The hook-in to the gallbladder wasn't clear, reminder to work the gallbladder on the right hand and the spleen on the left hand.
Hand Reflexology sequence: Spine & Dorsal surface (4:46)
Note: The spine is worked much slower and at least 3 times up and down the spinal reflex. Pausing in areas that are of concern. The pinch hold technique (holding the client's thumb between your thumb and first finger) and rolling and squeezing the neck reflex and cervical vertebrae. This works well for neck issues.
When I remembered to put in working across the fingers, I promptly forgot about the first web area (thumb and first finger). Very important area as it has the pain point. It is often a sensitive area for clients. Take care if the client has arthritis in the thumb.

Hand Reflexology sequence: Left-hand digestive system (42sec)
The left hand is worked the same as the right hand. The only area where the reflexes differ is the digestive system. On the left we work the transverse colon, descending and sigmoid colon, ending at the bladder reflex.
